About

SanChart is an independent, local-first work companion for NYC sanitation workers: chart and schedule visibility, work logging, payroll estimation and auditing, leave tracking, and field references. All records live in an on-device database — no SanChart account, no login, no developer-operated user database, no analytics. The foundation (chart and salary engines, onboarding, and the Today dashboard) is built; Calendar, Work Log, Pay, and Field arrive in later phases.

What it does

  • Chart-day visibility for every rotationA chart day is your scheduled day off. Engines cover SW 1–25 (25-week cycle), Officer F1–F6 (6-week cycle), A/B (two-week repeat), the fixed Saturday chart, and Custom. Rotations never reset on January 1 and work backward and forward in time.
  • Today dashboardToday's chart-day status, next chart day with a countdown, current service step with annual, hourly, and daily rates, next pay-step countdown, and a Log Today button.
  • Salary engine with verified rate formulasSeven service steps driven by your appointment-date anniversaries, seeded contract schedules, and the verified daily (annual ÷ 261) and hourly (annual ÷ 2,088) rate formulas, calculated in exact cents.
  • Never invent a ruleEvery chart and payroll rule carries provenance — verified, worker-confirmed, or unverified. Unknown rules stay configurable, and anything unresolved is flagged for verification instead of guessed.
  • Local-first, no accountAll records live in an on-device database. No SanChart account, no login, no developer-operated user database, no analytics or telemetry.
  • Onboarding with no account, email, or passwordAppointment date, borough, home garage, chart type and number, tour presets, appearance, and biometric preference — that's it.
  • System, light, and dark appearanceThree appearance modes with a live preview during onboarding, switchable any time in Settings.
  • Phone and tablet layoutsBottom tabs on phones; a sidebar rail and multi-column dashboard on tablets — a real tablet layout, not a stretched phone screen.
  • Home garage and chart history that never rewrites the pastA transfer closes the previous assignment and appends a new one; old work and payroll history is never deleted or rewritten, and temporary sent-out days never change your home garage.
  • Glove-friendly designBig tap targets and a field-tested palette, with crash-safe handling that turns bad saved data into a repair prompt instead of a crash.

Your data

  • All records live in an on-device database. There is no SanChart account, no login, and no developer-operated user database.
  • No analytics or telemetry. No Firebase, Supabase, or any remote database.
  • Your work records are not transmitted to or stored on SanChart-operated servers. Optional backups are created and controlled by you.
  • The only permission declared is optional Face ID / Touch ID for the app lock: "SanChart can use Face ID to unlock the app. Your data stays on this device." No location, camera, contacts, or notification permissions.
  • Encrypted backup and restore are designed but not yet available; they arrive in a later update.

Privacy at a glance →

SanChart is an independent app. It is not an official City of New York or DSNY application, and it uses no NYC seal, DSNY logo, or government crest.
Chart and payroll figures carry provenance (verified, worker-confirmed, or unverified). Several payroll rules are intentionally not implemented yet and are flagged for verification rather than guessed. SanChart is an estimate and reference tool, not an official payroll record.
